ABOUT THE PROJECT
Our client, an international multi-entity group, is building a security-critical, privacy-first information system on its own on-premise infrastructure: hardened mobile and desktop applications, hardware-key authentication, legally isolated data for each group entity, and self-hosted finance and AI capabilities.
The programme is delivered by a senior, multi-disciplinary team working in two-week agile sprints, with compartmentalised access and a strong culture of security by design.
WORK ARRANGEMENT
This is a remote position: you will work from home, from Madagascar. No attendance at DI-Africa's offices is required.
THE ROLE
Act as the architecture authority of a legally isolated multi-company platform running on private infrastructure: overlay network, separate data planes, hardware-based identity, mobile and desktop clients, and disaster recovery.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
● Own the overall architecture and its Architecture Decision Records (ADRs), written for executive sign-off.
● Design legally isolated multi-entity systems with separate data planes – not a shared database with a tenant ID.
● Architect the private overlay network, messaging and mail services and the signed update system.
● Define identity based on hardware second factor and zone claims.
● Set honest recovery objectives (RPO) and disaster recovery across sites.
TECHNICAL ENVIRONMENT
● Go, SQL, TypeScript/React; literate in Rust (Tauri), Bitcoin descriptors / PSBT, nginx, i2pd.
● Authentik, Kotlin mobile client, Tauri desktop client, SimpleX, Stalwart.
● On-premise data centers, air-gapped GPU network.
